The 2-day course “BIM Applications in Construction Waste Management and Circularity in Construction” of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) in the construction sector begins on February 6. Due to the great interest from construction companies, the training will be held in a hybrid format – in the EDIH training room and online, with a maximum number of participants of 30.
They will learn about the digitalization of the management and control of the activities of collection, transportation and treatment of construction waste (CW), the management of the requirements for the use of recycled construction materials in construction, as well as the digitalization of CW management in the construction and demolition process. The aim is to improve the prevention and control of air, water and soil pollution through digitalization, as well as to limit the risk to human health and the environment resulting from the collection, treatment and transportation of CW, and to facilitate the processes of recycling and utilization of CW to achieve the objectives of the Waste Management Act (WMA).
The BIM dimension, 9D, which is part of the course, focuses on lean construction. It aims to optimize construction processes and reduce waste through the use of BIM. Lean construction involves a shift in focus from maximizing productivity to minimizing waste.

Higher education in the field of construction and investment design is a mandatory minimum requirement for participants in the training. It is aimed at experts who are involved in construction and investment design, project management, consulting and supervision activities or administration. The course “BIM Applications in Construction Waste Management and Ensuring Circularity in Construction” includes a total of 7 training modules on 9D BIM.
