Coordinator of the “European Digital Innovation Hub in the Construction Sector” Signed a Funding Contract with the European Commission

On 13.10.2022 the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, as initiator and coordinator, signed a funding agreement with the European Commission for the implementation of an approved project for a European Digital Innovation Hub under the Digital Europe Programme – DIGITAL-2021-EDIH-01.

With the signature by the Executive Director of CSB Mr. Valentin Nikolov the project is officially launched. The European Digital Innovation Hub in the Construction Sector, an association established for this purpose, has the highly responsible task of providing services and support to small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions and the public for the implementation of the digital transformation in the sector by providing access to digital solutions, incl. BIM and GIS systems, new technologies, best practices, AI awareness, experimental facilities, etc. Part of the services will also focus on providing advanced training to acquire specific knowledge and skills in the field of digital technologies for professionals (architects, engineers and technical staff) through the establishment of a dedicated training centre.
For the implementation of the project the Association unites the efforts, expert capacity and potential of the branch organizations – Bulgarian Construction Chamber and Bulgarian Chamber of Architects, universities in the field of construction and scientific institutions – University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), VSU “Lyuben Karavelov”, Institute of Mechanics – BAS and leading organizations and companies from the private sector specialized in construction, project management, technology and innovation in the face of Cleantech Bulgaria Ltd, Geostroy AD, Planex Ltd, Bulgarian Construction Project Management Association, BAUMIT Ltd, ESRI Bulgaria ltd.
The funding agreement was also signed by all co-founders of the association.
The project activities aim at raising awareness of the companies, capacity of their employees, building partnerships, etc. This will lead to increased competitiveness of companies in the sector through the introduction and implementation of a range of high-tech, innovative and digital solutions, ensuring their reformation as well as greater efficiency and quality in construction.
