Two training courses of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) in the construction sector start on September 30 and are still open for registration of participants.
The first course is “Introduction to BIM” and will be held in our training room over 4 days – September 30 – October 1 and October 8 – 9. The training is face-to-face, and its main goal is to improve the qualifications of construction specialists by acquiring skills for using building information modeling (more popularly known by its English abbreviation BIM) in the investment process.
The second EDIH course is on the use of innovative products and will be held from September 30 to October 4 at the Baumit Bulgaria Vocational Training Center in the town of Elin Pelin.
The training courses related to the use of BIM capabilities are the largest in number – 20 in total, in the EDIH service catalog. In practice, BIM covers the entire life cycle of buildings – from design, through construction management and operation to their eventual demolition and waste recovery. And in this sense, building information modeling is a key element not only for the digitalization of the industry, but also for the development of the circular economy in Bulgaria. Specialized BIM training courses provide knowledge and skills for working with specific software for managing the entire construction and investment process in construction.
The introductory course in BIM is intended for professionals in the field of architecture, engineering and construction such as architects, engineers, team managers and lead designers. The minimum requirements for participants are secondary technical education and professional experience in applying computer methods for using specialized software. information systems (GIS). In addition, the introductory training provides basic knowledge of automation and robotization in modern construction.
The course is divided into 7 modules that cover different aspects of BIM:

1. Introduction to BIM, which includes basic concepts and definitions, history and development of BIM, as well as its impact on architecture, engineering and construction.

2. BIM processes and standards.

3. BIM software and tools.

4. Collaboration and coordination in BIM, which include information and data exchange between BIM software and formats, communication in BIM projects, coordination and collision detection, as well as collaboration and communication in the GeoBIM environment.

5. Sustainability and BIM, which includes energy efficiency and BIM analysis, energy systems modeling and integration of renewable energy sources, as well as certification of sustainable buildings and BIM application.

6. BIM and asset management, which includes building life phases and BIM, asset management and BIM integration, BIM and building maintenance and operation management, BIM and GIS integration for infrastructure facility maintenance and operation management.

7. ERP systems for managing the production and compliance of construction materials and products.

Lecturers in the course are leading experts, university professors and proven specialists from the construction sector in Bulgaria.
You can register for the “Introduction to BIM” training here.
The training for using innovative products in construction is face-to-face and includes acquiring knowledge and skills for working with innovative products of one of the partners in EDIH Baumit Bulgaria, and the “Klima” and “Ionit” systems will be presented, which help purify the air in the rooms and regulate humidity. In this way, a healthier and more comfortable living and living environment is created.
The requirement for participants in the training is to have at least completed the tenth grade of school, a medical certificate and basic experience in construction activities such as plastering and painting. The course is intended for architects, engineers, employees in design firms, construction experts and workers from municipalities, construction and supervision companies. These can be employees in small and medium-sized enterprises in the construction sector, in small companies with a mid-market capitalization, as well as in public sector organizations (but for their non-economic activities).
Lecturers in the training on innovative products are specialists with proven experience in working with them. The 5-day course includes the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the use of innovative products.
The theoretical focus of the training is related to the relevant regulatory framework, to the inspection and preparation of the base, to the different types of systems, to the influence of the conditions in the premises on the quality of the laying, to the errors that are made during the laying process, and to the subsequent quality control. The practical activities are about the inspection and preparation of the base, the use of components and accessories and the sequence of laying. They include the acquisition of skills for applying putties and paints on different bases, to establish the influence of the conditions in the premises on the quality of the laying and to control this same quality. The practical training will be carried out using electric and hand tools and with real materials from production.
