Description
In 2019, the CO2 emissions of construction, the giant industry we interact with every day, increased to their highest levels, accounting for 38% of global energy-related CO 2 emissions. As an industry that employs 7% of the world’s working population, and with 68% of the world’s population expected to live in urban areas by 2050, stakeholders in this industry need to take responsibility for reducing emissions and creating a sustainable and net zero future for all. Namely, the VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) technology and the IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) methodology are examples of sustainable practices that allow to build virtually before the physically built objects are executed, optimizing the project not only from the point of view of finance, schedule , public procurement and risk management, and from the point of view of reducing emissions, waste and carbon footprint. Through 6D BIM, sustainability is embedded in the thinking, actions and business processes of the construction industry. 6D BIM assesses the sustainability and energy efficiency of the building. This course addresses all of these questions.
The course is an overview of basic concepts, activities and good practices in working with information technology and digital tools of a general professional nature.
